DMC-365 - Exploring the Interface Between Equipment and Creativity in Photography

DMC-365 focuses on creative photography equipment, techniques, and approaches. I believe that equipment is part of the creative process. I use Leica, Panasonic Lumix, Nikon and other cameras, both digital and film. On DMC-365, you can expect to see a lot of my own work, as well as work by others that I find interesting. I share methods, equipment developments, and creative approaches to photography.

Excellent Street Photography from Istanbul - SimonSawSunlight

I think one of my favorite photographic pursuits is to travel to a new city and try to capture the spirit and character of the place in street photographs. Every once in a while, I come across someone else who does this in a way that inspires me to keep trying, keep improving.

Here's an example:

I've never been to Istanbul. Simon's images give me a real feel for the place which I really appreciate. Way beyond postcard images, he's shared with us some of the true textures and scenes of the city.

Poster nickthetasmaniac has posted an excellent series of images from the upheaval currently going on in Turkey. Shot with the Olympus OM-D, these images really give the feel of the place and situation.

Nick did very nice work with the OM-D.
